Is it suitable for kids?Updated a month ago
While there's nothing really wrong with giving kids whey protein, it is a bit harder for some kids to digest and it's not required for most kids as they’re probably already getting what they can get from whey from dairy, etc.
Our recommendation is to not use whey protein for children under 3 years of age. It can instead be considered as an occasional, supportive option for older children when used alongside a balanced, food-first approach.
For kids we generally recommend our Collagen Protein which is easier for kids to digest. Again, it's not required, but it is an easy way to sneak in more protein, especially at breakfast to help with focus and mood and/or to make foods more appealing to fussy eaters (e.g. add the choc flavour to oats or yoghurt for a chocolate version). The flavoured versions are an easy swap for sugary options like Milo (e.g. healthy choc milk or hot choc).
FYI the packet says it's not suitable for kids - this is because it's classified as a supplement and that's a required blanket statement for all supplement packaging.
